Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide III (Housekeeping Lead) at Newton Medical Center to work 3:00PM-11:00PM, including every other weekend.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and training for housekeeping associates on a daily basis.
- Complete housekeeping work schedules.
- Assist with finding coverage for staff call-outs.
- Complete maintenance request reports when needed.
- Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor.
- Attends required in-services and staff meetings.
- In absence of the housekeeping supervisor, lead co-workers in the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department.
- Trains new associates and assists in department orientation process.
- Communicates associate performance, conduct, issues, etc. to the Director of Building Services Customer Satisfaction.
- Demonstrates a commitment to satisfying member needs and exceeding expectations.
- Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients’ rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
- Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
- Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
- Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
- Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
- Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS. minimum and stand for long periods of time.
- Great communication/customer service/people skills a must.
Relevant Experience:
- 1 to 3 years previous EVS leadership experience preferred.
- 5+ years of previous housekeeping experience in a hospital/healthcare environment preferred.
- Previous floor-care experience preferred.
