Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Morristown Medical Center. Required hours are 7:00AM – 3:00PM, including every other weekend.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients’ rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
- Follows the department’s policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
- Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
- Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
- Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
- Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
- Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
- Reports any repairs to maintenance.
- Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 2 years of employment.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS.
Relevant Experience:
- Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
