Registered Nurse, Per Diem Wound Care

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various wounds, injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
2. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
3. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
4. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
5. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
6. Records patient vital signs and medical information.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
8. Collaborates with physicians, care managers and staff in both the acute care setting and outpatient setting to facilitate the continuum care spectrum and to optimize positive patient outcomes.
9. Demonstrates professional manner is all aspects of role. Works cooperatively with staff to maintain an efficient functioning unit. Participates in unit meetings, in-services and projects. Seeks new information to broaden knowledge base and keep practice current. Wound care certified nurse shares clinical expertise with colleagues. Applies new knowledge/research to modify and improve practice. Provides orientation to floor nurses and patient care technicians as delegated by the WHC nursing coordinator.
Required:
1. Bachelor degree in Nursing or related field required.
2. 3+ years of experience in Nursing or relevant area.
3. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and BLS certification required.
4. ACLS certification preferred.
5. Wound experience required.
6. Wound care certification preferred.
