Currently, Atlantic Health System is seeking a Nursing Coordinator to work on our Care Coordination department. This incredible opportunity is full-time.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Administrative Responsibilities. Maintains proper staffing based upon staff competency, safety, and budget allocations. Completes time schedule appropriately and releases same in a timely manner. Collaborates with the Clinical Coordinators to adjust staff assignments to maximize unit productivity. Manages payroll and corrections needed. Approves payroll when assigned by the Manager. In collaboration with the Management Council, interviews and hires those candidates for employment who meet qualifications. Participates in and ensures completion of staff performance evaluations and ensure peer review process. Participates in performance improvement/patient safety activities. Initiates independent decisions with regards to staff requests. Demonstrates basic competency in computer skills. I E. E-mail, Word, and Excel.
Clinical Responsibilities. Maintains clinical excellence to be available as a clinical resource. Assists with the mentoring of new employees. Collaborates with educator to improve standards of performance.
Educational / Professional Responsibilities. Criteria: Participates in the development of staff. Meets regulatory, licensure, annual competency and mandatory requirements. Strives to grow professionally through continuous study and participation in various committees. Serves as a resource person for the staff within and outside of the department. Maintains professional competency through participation in continuing education. Maintains BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
Leadership Qualities and Skills Demonstrates ability to work constructively with other members of the healthcare team. Demonstrates the ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Effectively utilizes conflict resolution and decision-making skills. Provides staff with definite, positive assistance to correct professional and/or behavioral difficulties. Communicates in a clear, professional manner. Is courteous, tactful and patient when interacting with other departments and the community at large. Participates in scheduled meetings. Participates in interdisciplinary planning for patient care. Ability to effectively utilize management resources for own growth and development. Effectively communicates policies and other information to staff. Takes appropriate corrective action to address practice, performance, and behavioral issues. Implements the progressive disciplinary process as needed. Terminates staff as appropriate. May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
General Requirements. Maintains regulatory requirements, I E. OSHA, Safety. Completes the annual mandatory requirements. Conducts the staff meeting as delegated. Attends at least one professional development workshop annually. Adheres to AHS confidentiality policy. Ensures that the Shared Governance model is supported. Actively participates in the Departments Continuous Quality Improvement activities. Meets dress code standards for the Department. Wears identification badge properly while on duty. Communicates verbally and in writing clearly, completely, accurately, succinctly and timely. Maintains clinical skills.
