Atlantic Health System is seeking a part-time Bed Management Coordinator for the Clinical Operations Center located at 25 Vreeland Road, Florham Park, NJ. The shift is 7:00AM-7:00PM with one weekend requirement per month.
Effectively works with units and the multidisciplinary team to assure timely and appropriate bed assignment.
Assists units with transfers and discharges as needed.
Update/process all hospital admissions as directed and in accordance with the Admission Initiative, unit based and departmental guidelines.
Use of ready reserve and intent to transfer to process transfer/bed requests. Change patient types. Update Bed Manager or designee, Nursing supervisor, Emergency room, PACU, SDS and direct admission physician or designee and/or patient of bed availability.
Track bed assignments and bed availability Ensure staff trained and prepared to implement downtime process at all times.
Appropriately place all patients paying special attention to isolation status, sex of patient and additional circumstances and information that affect your choice of bed placement.
Consult Infection Prevention for opportunities to cohort isolation patients and questions about patients isolation status.
Adhere to Infection Prevention policy and procedure for placement of isolation patients.
Acts as a problem solver and facilitates transfer between floors.
Adhere to departmental procedures including the order/steps to be used to admit a patient.
High School diploma required
Epic experience required
Prior Hospital experience required
Strong communication and computer skills required
