- Strong clinical leader with experience driving improvements in quality and safety
- Track record of physician leadership with progressive leadership experience – ideally as Division Chief or Vice Chair of Department
- Experience within an academic setting is desirable
- Comfort level managing a combination of employed and voluntary staff
- MD or equivalent degree
- Board certification in General Surgery; additional fellowship training in a surgical subspecialty is not required
- Business degree or equivalent experience preferred
- All candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey
